Welcome to the United Kingdom International Corner at APPA. As an international association we are dedicated to maintaining, protecting, and promoting the quality of educational facilities. We serve to assist facilities officers and physical plant administrators in colleges, universities, and other educational institutions. We promote excellence in the administration, care, operations, planning, and construction of educational facilities. APPA serves the entire education community by conducting research and educational programs, producing publications, developing guidelines, and serving as a central information source.

HEFCE 2007/08 Estate Management Statistics Annual Report 2006
This publication reports on the progress and findings of estate management statistics (EMS) during 2006. EMS shares estates information among UK higher education institutions and empowers institutions to improve management of the physical infrastructure. Study Shows School Cleanliness Affects Learning
A recent national study of college students determined there is a correlation between the cleanliness of a school’s facilities and students’ academic achievement. Entitled Cleanliness and Learning in Higher Education, the study was based around the five levels of clean identified in APPA’s Custodial Staffing Guidelines for Educational Facilities.
