CFaR
CFaR STRUCTURE
APPA will extend a biannual call for researchers to the APPA community in order to enhance visibility around the Thought Leaders Series Top 10 Critical Issues. APPA will encourage submissions for CFaR research based on the previous year’s top 10 critical issues within the facilities profession.
Once a CFaR research proposal is submitted online, APPA staff will review the proposal and submit it to the appropriate CFaR Assistant Director. There are four Assistant Directors who represent each of the four core competencies: 1) General Administration; 2) Operations and Maintenance; 3) Energy, Utilities, and the Environment; and 4) Planning, Design, and Construction.
The completed proposal will be submitted to one of the Assistant Directors who most closely represents the proposed research topic. The Assistant Director primarily serves as an advisor to the Principal Investigator throughout the research process.
Throughout the research phase, APPA’s Research Specialist will act as a facilitator for the project and may be able to provide some resources for the project.
Once the research is completed, it will be submitted to both APPA and the Assistant Director. A select panel of peer reviewers will be chosen to review the final submission. The peer review process will be confidential and should take approximately one month. Based on the review, the document may require further research and revision.
APPA will accept all completed research submissions for consideration of that academic year’s "Researcher of the Year” award as well as other publication and/or presentation forums.
