Associations

AASCU: Members of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities work to extend higher education to all citizens by increasing access to students who traditionally have been underrepresented in higher education and first generation college students.

AAUA: The American Association of University Administrators is a nonprofit organization that develops and advances the standards for the profession of higher education administration.

ACPA: The American College Personnel Association is the leading student affairs association that advances student affairs and engages students for a lifetime of learning and discovery.

ASAE: The American Society of Association Executives and The Center for Association Leadership are two organizations linked together by a common passion to help association professionals achieve previously unimaginable levels of performance.

ASBO: Founded in 1910, The Association of School Business Officials International is a professional association of 6,000 school business management professionals whose mission is to provide programs and services to promote the highest standards of school business management practices, professional growth, and the effective use of educational resources.

CEFPI:  The Council of Educational Facility Planners/The School Building Association represents over 3000 professional individuals, institutions and corporations that are actively involved in planning, designing, building, equipping and maintaining educational facilities.

CHEMA: The Council of Higher Education Management Associations is an informal voluntary assembly of thirty management-oriented higher education associations in the United States and Canada. By sharing information, comparing experiences, and working collectively on projects of shared interest, CHEMA members maximize their resources and create substantial benefits for the colleges and universities they represent.

EDUCAUSE: The Association for Managing and Using Information Resources in Higher Education (EDUCAUSE) is a nonprofit association whose mission is to advance higher education by promoting the intelligent use of information technology.

FFC: The Federal Facilities Council's mission is to identify and advance technologies, processes, and management practices that improve the performance of federal facilities over their entire life-cycle, from planning to disposal.

NACUBO: The National Association of College and University Business Officers represents chief administrative and financial officers through a collaboration of knowledge and professional development, advocacy, and community.  Founded in 1962, NACUBO serves a membership of more than 2,500 colleges, universities, and higher education service providers across the country.

NACURH - The National Association of College and University Residence Halls is the leading national organization advocating the interests and welfare of residence hall students.

NAFSA: The National Association of State Facilities Administrators is a professional organization whose mission is to provide leadership in the development and implementation of state facility administration practices.

NCHEMS - The National Center for Higher Education Management Systems assists colleges and universities in improving their management capability.

SCUP: The Society for College and University Planning is an association focused on the promotion, advancement and application of effective planning in higher education.



Occupational Safety & Health:

ATSDR: The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry is a federal public health agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. ATSDR serves the public by using the best science, taking responsive public health actions, and providing trusted health information to prevent harmful exposures and diseases related to toxic substances.

CCOHS: The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health & Safety is a Canadian federal government agency for work-related injury and illness prevention initiatives and occupational health and safety information.

CDC: Centers for Disease Control & Prevention - a leading force in public health expertise.

CSHEMA: The Campus Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Association provides information sharing opportunities, continuing education, and professional fellowship to people with environmental health and safety responsibilities in the education and research communities.

HMIRC - The Hazardous Materials Information Review Commission is an independent agency that works with industry, labor and governments to help safeguard both workers and trade secrets in Canadas chemical industry.

NFPA: The National Fire Prevention Association, established in 1896, serves as the world's leading advocate of fire prevention and is an authoritative source on public safety.  NFPA's 300 codes and standards influence every building, process, service, design, and installation in the United States, as well as many of those used in other countries.

NIOSH:  The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health is the federal agency responsible for conducting research and making recommendations for the prevention of work-related injury and illness. NIOSH is part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the Department of Health and Human Services.

NSC: The National Safety Council is a nonprofit, nongovernmental, public service organization dedicated to protecting life and promoting health. The NSC is a membership organization, founded in 1913 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1953. Members include more than 48,000 businesses, labor organizations, schools, public agencies, private groups and individuals.

OSHA: The Occupational Safety and Health Administration's mission is to assure the safety and health of America's workers by setting and enforcing standards; providing training, outreach, and education; establishing partnerships; and encouraging continual improvement in workplace safety and health.

Study Shows School Cleanliness Affects Learning

Entitled Cleanliness and Learning in Higher Education, the national study of college students was based around the five levels of clean identified in APPA’s Custodial Staffing Guidelines for Educational Facilities. More information.
