University of Michigan First to Certify to Cleaning Industry Management Standard
ISSA, the leading association for the cleaning industry worldwide, has announced that the University of Michigan Ann Arbor Campus Plant Building and Grounds Services Department (PBGS) has become the first cleaning organization in the industry to not only certify to ISSAs Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS), but to receive the additional designation of Certification with Honors.
The University of Michigan is one of 24 case study organizations in the United States and Canada that have committed to being the first in-house and contracted operations to undergo third-party assessments to achieve possible certification to CIMS. While certification officially opens to the industry-at-large later this year, ISSA is now accepting applications and can schedule assessments to be held after October 2007.
