The 2008 FPI will continue to embrace the concepts of the Balanced Scorecard through the inclusion of indicators from each of the four balanced scorecard perspectives. The organizing framework, however, will shift from modules to an Essential Question Set for which all facilities professionals should have the answers. The new framework will also allow facilities professionals to easily and clearly share these answers with campus decision makers. |

Study Shows School Cleanliness Affects Learning
A recent national study of college students determined there is a correlation between the cleanliness of a school’s facilities and students’ academic achievement. Entitled Cleanliness and Learning in Higher Education, the study was based around the five levels of clean identified in APPA’s Custodial Staffing Guidelines for Educational Facilities.
