What Is the APPA/MHEC FPI Survey Partnership? |
|
APPA’s annual Facilities Performance Indicators Survey (FPI Survey) is a comprehensive collection of facilities-related operational costs and personnel information, strategic financial measures, and much more. The resulting Facilities Performance Indicators reports are Web-based and include numerous charts, dashboard gauges, a peer review feature, and a searchable database. The report is utilized by participating institutions as a robust benchmarking and cohort comparison tool. |

This past spring, APPA (an association providing leadership in educational facilities) and MHEC (the Midwest Higher Education Compact), through a generous grant from the Lumina Foundation for Education, developed an energy benchmarking tool using the components of the existing FPI survey. The result was a scaled-down version of the annual FPI survey. |
|
APPA and MHEC now desire to continue this collaborative effort by establishing a longitudinal study of energy usage over time, while continuing to foster participation among MHEC member institutions to engage in the full Facilities Performance Indicators (FPI) survey every year. |
The 2008-09 FPI Survey Cycle is now closed but the 2009-10 Survey will open at the end of March. |

APPA will conveniently auto-populate all 2008-09 MHEC survey participants’ data into the 2009-10 FPI survey. We are requesting that all former 2008-09 survey participants log in to their 2009-10 survey and review their data for accuracy. If the data is correct, please click the hyperlink and the data will auto-populate into the field. If the data is incorrect, you may simply enter the corrected data directly into the field itself and by-pass the hyperlink. If you participated in the 2008-09 FPI survey cycle, please see the FPI Report page for important updates on the release of the FPI Report. |
Participation in the FPI Survey is free. Access to the final online FPI report is also at no charge if your institution is an APPA member. As a special offer to MHEC member institutions, APPA is offering a full membership package for $250. Any MHEC member institution that is not currently an APPA member is eligible for this offer.
