Is Your FM on Facebook?: Social Media for the Facilities Manager

Confused about social media?Wonder how it applies to facilities management? Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Foursquare, Google+,Flikr,Tumblr, - where does it end? And where should you begin? This session will provide insight into social media and how facility organizations can use it to improve service and engage the campus community. Learn the pro and cons of different platforms, how to create an action plan, and design a sustainable process to connect with your campus. Examples of facility management Facebook pages will be critiqued and best practices identified. Finally, a decision making model on how best to implement social media will be offered.

LEARNING OUTCOMES:
1. Participants will learn what is social media, its reach, and what important facts should they know.
2. Participants will gain an understanding on how’s it being leveraged today by facilities and other service industries.
3, Participants will discuss best channels for facilities managers to engage stakeholders.
4. Participants will discuss best practices for facility service professionals.
