Track IV: Organizational Effectiveness Skills
The purpose of this track is to provide the resources needed to ensure the long-term effectiveness of an organization. This leadership perspective widens to examine differing roles and styles, respectively, and to identify potential areas for improvement. Individuals learn how to align their institution's systems, structures, and processes to benefit all of their stakeholders. Sessions explore the skills and tools needed to effect change and consistently improve the organization.
SKILLS LEARNED:
- Strengthen leadership skills while defining the facilities manager's role in institutional administration.
- Determine how to set direction with mission, values, and tactical planning.
- Gain a greater understanding of the institutional strategy: the strategic map.
- Learn about the customer perspective: corporate, department, and unit.
- Establish an understanding of the financial/resource perspective.
- Broaden your understanding of the business processes perspective.
- Attain an understanding of the learning and growth perspective.

Study Shows School Cleanliness Affects Learning
Entitled Cleanliness and Learning in Higher Education, the national study of college students was based around the five levels of clean identified in APPA’s Custodial Staffing Guidelines for Educational Facilities.
