We are advocates. We are young, ambitious, humanitarians, artists, and students. We are unique individuals who are ready to see change in this world and are eager to pursue it. As a non-profit, the Together We Rise team is completely compiled of passionate interns and volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of foster children across the U.S. By building awareness and fundraising we hope to better the lives of children and give them a sense of normalcy in their sometimes turbulent world. Each day thoughts of children enter the foster care system through the U.S. with nothing more than a trash bag of belongings. Partnering with Together We Rise for a SWEET CASE event can change all that! Joins us at APPA/SRAPPA/TNAPPA 2016 for our SWEET CASE day where we will decorate and stuff sweet cases for the children who are currently part of the Nashville Foster Care system. During the registration process you may either sign up to be part of the decorating/stuffing crew, make a $30 donation or both! For more information about Together We Rise, visit them today.
Is your organization ready for what is to come? We hear this time and time again from our leadership, stakeholders as well as our internal team. Lenny’s career with Marriott began in 1972 at the 750-room Philadelphia City Line Marriott Hotel. He started as a maintenance helper and through the years worked his way to Director of Engineering. In 1984, Lenny accepted the position of Regional Director for New England and oversaw 13 Full Service hotels. He stayed in the regional position for 6 years, and in 1989 accepted the Division Director of Engineering position for the Courtyard Brand.
By the end of 1996, Lenny was promoted to Vice President of Engineering for Marriott’ Select Service and Extended Stay Brands. Four years later he was promoted again to Vice President of Engineering for North America. In 2009 he was selected to lead the Engineering and Facilities Management Group for Marriott as Global Vice President. How will we meet the challenges/opportunities brought on by the changes in workforce demographics, innovative pedagogy, and even more rapidly changing technology? Is the current hierarchal organizational model still relevant today? Will our emerging professionals embrace the same old way of doing business? This joint Senior Facility Officer (SFO) and Emerging Professional (EP) session will dive into the issues of the organization of the future. After the presentation, join in group discussions with the EPs to further explore the topic and to share your thoughts with all summit participants.

After a short introduction presentation, join in group discussions with your fellow SFOs to further explore the topic and share your group’s discoveries with all SFO participants.
