2019 Application for APPA Vice President for Member & Community Engagement

APPA’s next Vice President for Member & Community Engagement should possess a proven track record of guiding an organization through a period of transformative change. The vision of APPA painted by the current Strategic Plan will be coming into maturity during the tenure of this position.

The Vice President for Membership & Community Engagement will be attractive to a person with strong strategic and analytical skills. APPA will be employing data analytics tools to better help us understand our members and potential members. The next VP will lead efforts to position the association to use these tools to predict the type of institution that will likely join and retain their APPA memberships, while encouraging their staff members to become engaged, and utilize our services. The VP will lead efforts to dive deep into the data analytics of the Association and develop subsequent membership strategies. Additionally, in alignment with APPA’s Strategic Plan, the VP will lead efforts to develop strategies and initiatives to build out more robust virtual and physical communities of interest within the greater APPA community.

Candidates are required to review APPA’s Strategic Plan in evaluating their interest and for preparing their application. Candidates are also required to review the charge of the committee.

2020 Vice-President for Member & Community Engagement Application

  • Step 1: Application and Expression of Interest

    Candidates interested in being considered for Vice President for Membership & Community Engagement must submit the following personal information and provide a narrative in response to the questions outlined by the Nominations Committee. This step must be completed by December 20, 2019. The Nominations Committee will select the candidate or candidates who have submitted the most compelling responses to the Step #1 information requests to move to Step #2, with the goal fielding a candidate or candidates for a general membership election to be held in April of 2020.
