APPA Webinar: Navigating the Energy Transition to Reach Carbon Neutrality

Higher education and school district campuses are committed to sustainable operations and resiliency while charting their energy transition toward zero energy campuses and eventually carbon neutrality. This presentation discusses forming strategies to reduce emissions within campuses and districts, advance decarbonization with technology and industry breakthroughs yielding new ways to design, build, operate, and maintain campus buildings.

Learning Objectives:
1. The audience will have the opportunity to review and discuss political, financial, technological, and institutional barriers to addressing climate commitment carbon neutrality goals.
2. The audience will learn about the pathways for success in collaboration between higher education institutions and industry partners to continue driving deeper innovations that can be actively applied to the built environment.
3. The audience will learn about the emerging energy innovations such as eco-districts, multi-building cooling/heating sharing, integrating high efficiency technology such as ground-source heat pumps, solar photovoltaics and battery storage, and industry best practices in turnover from construction to operations as the design of new buildings evolves to meet carbon neutral goals.
