NACUBO and APPA continue to collaborate to raise consciousness over some basic key facilities metrics. The goal is for campus finance and facilities professionals to be in alignment on a handful of important annual consumption metrics: Electrical/Btu; Water Consumption; Waste Stream Output; Electrical; and Carbon Footprint.
This year we had a record amount of participants - 329 institutions, a 20% increase over last year's survey. Campuses are reviewing individual results and outliers now, and final results will be posted on the APPA website by end of March 2017. (Summary and link will be on the NACUBO website.) On the APPA website, campuses have flexible choice to create whatever ratio is best to explain their consumption issues - by Carnegie class, region, gross square foot, or FTE.
Congratulations to our prize drawing winners!

We hope you will complete the survey for the 2016-17 timeframe, and invite your peer institutions to participate as well; it will be the fourth year for our APPA/NACUBO collaboration. We will open on July 1 and will close again in early December 2017.

Where measurements occur, then improvements are likely to follow.
This brief six-question survey requires you to enter data on your campus’ annual consumption (found on utility/vendor monthly or quarterly) statements. While this requires some minimal effort, knowing this information should prove most beneficial for both facilities and financial strategic leadership. If you have further questions on the survey content or outcome reports, please contact NACUBO staff Sally Grans Korsh at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Once you log in to MyAPPA, you should see a box titled, MyResearch. Just click the 2015-16 APPA/NACUBO Key Facilities Metrics Report link in that box and then you’ll be taken to a new page where you will need to click one final link titled, View the Key Facilities Metrics Report (2015-16).
