CEFP Prep Course and Exam
Step 1. Confirm Your Eligibility
To enroll in the CEFP Prep Course and Exam, you must have at least 8 years of combined education and professional experience in facilities management.

Step 2. Register and Access Your Learning Course
When you purchase the CEFP Exam, your registration automatically includes access to a 90-day, self-paced online learning prep course through APPA’s LMS platform in Member Compass. You can study at your own pace, with flexibility to engage when it works best for your schedule.
This course provides:

Four one-hour on-demand review sessions covering the core knowledge areas.

Access to archived recordings for additional reinforcement.
Step 3. Take the CEFP Exam and Earn Certification

Exams are available on-demand with flexible scheduling options.

Results are delivered promptly upon completion.

If you do not pass on the first attempt, you can request will receive a free retake opportunity within 30 days of completing the exam which includes , with continued access to the online learning course.

Additional attempts are available for $150, with 30 days of renewed access to the LMS platform.
Cohorts
APPA has two programs you can attend to earn the CEFP credential. Depending on how familiar you are with APPA’s Body of Knowledge will determine which course is right for you.
The CEFP Course and Exam is an online, 90-day self-study course with four live, one-hour review webinars. The CEFP exam must be attempted before the conclusion of your cohort group. If you fail the exam, you will be placed in the next available cohort group to restart the course and retest free of charge. Additional exam attempts can be purchased for $150 each, with 30 days access to the study platform.
The Pathway to Professionalism is a four-day educational program designed to explore APPA’s Body of Knowledge (BOK) prior to attempting the CEFP exam, which is optional but included in the registration fee. This program is ideal for anyone looking to become CEFP certified, needing recertification points, or wishing to better understand the BOK. (Offered virtually or in-person, for groups or individual registration)
