- CEFP Live Prep Course — Live training to prepare for the CEFP exam. Virtual and in-person options available.
How long do I have access to the CEFP Self Study Course?
You will have 180 days of access to the self-paced prep learning course once you register.
Do I need to be an APPA member to take the exam?
No, the CEFP Exam is open to both members and non-members. Members, however, receive significantly discounted pricing.
How do I know if I qualify?
Download the Qualification Spreadsheet to confirm you meet the requirements including 8 years of combined education and professional experience.
Why do I need to qualify for the CEFP exam?
The CEFP curriculum is designed for professionals with significant experience in educational facilities. The exam includes case studies that require you to draw upon real-world expertise in planning, design, construction, operations, utilities, sustainability, and management. Candidates with less experience may find it difficult to successfully complete the prep course and exam.
Can I review the Body of Knowledge (BOK) before I begin?
Yes. All APPA members have access to the BOK online. However, we strongly recommend using the credentialing version of the BOK provided within the CEFP Self Study Course, as that is the version used to develop the exam.
How long do I have access to the CEFP Self Study Course?
Access to the prep course is available for 180 days beginning the day you purchase access to the exam.
When can I take the exam?
The CEFP exam is a proctored, online exam, giving you the flexibility to schedule when you’re ready during your 180-day access period.
What if I don’t pass the exam?
Exam retakes may be purchased for $150, which includes 30 days of renewed access to the CEFP Self Study Course.
Is the exam fee included in the registration?
Yes. The exam fee is included whether you purchase the CEFP Self Study Course or participate in the CEFP Prep Course.
How do I renew my CEFP once I’ve earned it?
