Facilities Certification Update: New P2P Program, 41 New CEFPs

January 18, 2024

Facilities professionals looking to advance to the next level of their careers can now register for the upcoming Pathway to Professionalism (P2P) program, which explores in detail APPA’s Body of Knowledge and prepares attendees to take the optional CEFP exam at no additional cost. The next virtual P2P consists of four online sessions (three to five hours each) starting at 11 am on the following Thursdays: March 28, April 4, April 11, and April 25. There will be no session on April 18 to avoid conflicting with the APPA 2024 Spring Conference

The P2P is a convenient and cost-effective way to master the four foundational competency areas in APPA’s Body of Knowledge (BOK):

  • General Administration and Management
  • Operations and Maintenance
  • Energy, Utilities, and Environmental Stewardship
  • Planning, Design, and Construction

The virtual P2P is taught by a qualified APPA Certified Educational Facilities Professional (CEFP) trainer and encourages group discussions and collaboration. Professionals taking the P2P also have access to APPA’s Customized Interactive Learning (CIL) platform and resources coupled with on-site or online instructor-led training. The program is $1,195 for APPA members and $1,595 for non-members.
