Organizations that own and maintain buildings often have the opportunity to move into new buildings. The turnover process of moving from the construction phase into the operational phase can be painful for members of the facilities team. With proper planning this can be avoided. Tasks for the turnover process include selecting key stakeholders, hiring labor to operate/maintain the new facility, implementing an asset management program, and purchasing the equipment to maintain the new building.
