Electrical Safety Basics: Arc Flash & Shock Hazards

A brief overview of electrical hazard identification/classification for low voltage energized electrical work tasks will be provided reviewing the key requirements of the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace as a toolbox to eliminate exposure or reduce risk to as low as reasonably practicable when energized electrical works are required to be completed.
Learning Objectives:
Identify when a Qualified Person will be exposed to electric shock and what immediate and long term effects are.
Identify when a Qualified Person may be exposed to an abnormal arcing fault and arc flash and the immediate effects.
Gain an understanding of the key requirements of the NFPA 70E, 2021 Edition and how they are applied for electrical hazard identification and risk reduction.
Learn what arc flash and shock PPE, tools & equipment can be applied to reduce risk.
