Webinar: Sustainability Options within Care Products Driving toward Net Zero Emissions

Teaching methodologies have evolved dramatically in recent years in response to students’ needs, curriculum, classroom dynamics, and available technology. So too has classroom design for higher education. Today’s students may not want to sit through a 1-and-a-half-hour traditional lecture. They prefer to actively engage with their peers and faculty and require space designed to support that. Lecture-style classroom are rarely the dominant typology across campuses. Design for academic spaces in higher education is evolving toward more flexible, collaborative, active, case study, and other specialized teaching spaces, all with integrated user-friendly technology.

This presentation will include case studies that will highlight 21st century leaning environments in both new and renovated buildings at the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, Vassar College, and Rutgers University. This session will include a LIVE STREAM from the new technology classroom at Rutgers University!

At the conclusion of this session, participants will learn to:
1. Identify trends in university classroom buildings that support the shift in teaching pedagogy towards interactive, collaborative learning environments.
2. Illustrate how identified trends can be integrated into new and existing facilities.
3. Examine the growing importance of technology in the classroom and how to stay ahead of advancements of equipment and identify ways to seamlessly integrate technology with existing or new architectural aesthetics.
4. Discover how a user-friendly interface assures the technology is utilized.
