UC Irvine has presented eight “Smart Labs” workshops over past years. This year our Smart Labs workshop will provide new content based on our continuing improvements, effectiveness testing, and lessons learned that we hope will be valuable to past Smart Labs workshop attendees.
The Smart Labs workshop will be March 17-18, 8:00 am to 12:45 pm (PDT) on both days. Day one will cover Smart Labs as a program, including the business case that is more compelling after a decade of experience than we had initially predicted; how large organizations such as National Laboratories are implementing the program; and the value of Smart Labs in the context of an infectious disease pandemic. Day two will take a deep dive into the more technical aspects of Smart Labs design, including the extensive informatics layer and our findings about ventilation effectiveness attributes that contribute to aerosol exposure control.
