Workshop: Introduction to STARS: Chart your Course and Complete your First STARS Journey

We begin this odyssey with an introduction to STARS and how it can be used to advance sustainability at your institution. We’ll provide an overview of the framework, a discussion of the reporting process from start to finish, and resources available to help you complete the journey and earn a rating. The “chart your course,” section will provide guidance on STARS goal-setting and creating a plan for report submission. The last leg of this journey will offer best practices for submitting for a rating, and using content from your first report to advance incremental change, and launch future adventures.

Participants will have opportunities to build their own project plan and brainstorm strategies to overcome common reporting challenges. Indiana University Southeast’s inaugural STARS submission will be applied as a case study throughout the workshop.
