Structure & Length
- Headline: Short, engaging, and specific (e.g., “RMA Launches New Sustainability Initiative”).
- Opening Sentence: Summarize the key achievement or news in one sentence.
- Body: 150–300 words for InsideAPPA; up to 500 words for blog posts.
- Closing: Optional call-to-action (e.g., “Learn more at [link]”).
Content Focus
- Highlight member achievements, institutional milestones, or regional events.
- Include impact or relevance: Why does this matter to facilities professionals?
- Share success stories, innovations, or community engagement.
- Avoid purely administrative updates—make it reader-focused and inspiring.
Tone & Style
- Professional yet conversational—reflect APPA’s collaborative voice.
- Use active voice and positive framing.
- Avoid jargon; explain acronyms on first use.
Visuals
- Submit one high-quality image (JPEG/PNG, 1200px wide preferred).
- Include a short caption and photo credit.
Formatting
- Provide region/chapter name, date, and author/contact.
- Use plain text (no embedded links; include URLs in parentheses).
- Ensure spelling and grammar are correct.
Submission Frequency
- Monthly or quarterly updates.
- Send to publications@appa.org by the 15th of the month for next issue.
Optional Enhancements
- Include a quote from a member or leader for a personal touch.
- Share metrics or outcomes (e.g., attendance numbers, cost savings).
- Link to resources or recordings for deeper engagement.
