AI in Educational Facilities Management Workshop (T3)
APPA's upcoming T3 event will focus on AI and its impact on Educational Facilities Management. Hear case studies from leaders in the field and engage in discussions with APPA's institutional members and business partners. This two-day event will be filled with ideas, discussions, and important takeaways to propel your organization forward.
This T3 will be held in conjunction with APPA's premier in-person training event: APPAU. Participants will network with facilities professionals from around the globe throughout the event.

What's Included/Cost to Attend
The AI Workshop kicks off with a Monday evening reception with all APPAU programming. Participant meals are provided for breakfast, lunch, and breaks throughout the session days (Tues/Wed). Attendees are responsible for hotel accommodations and evening meals.

Workshop Hosts
The AI Workshop will be hosted by Sid Thatham and Pete Zuraw

Sid Thatham is an Energy Engineer in the University of Cincinnati’s (UC) Department of Utilities and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the College of Engineering & Applied Science, where he teaches courses such as Effectiveness in Technical Organizations and Energy, Environment & Society. Sid is also an integral member of the AI Enablement team at the university, where he works towards advancing AI literacy. He co-leads the UC Faculty AI Readiness initiative, and his team has funded 17 AI research. He earned dual master’s degrees from UC—a Master’s in Chemical Engineering and an MBA—and is a longtime campus innovation leader.
A frequent public speaker, Sid has delivered multiple TEDx talks, including Measure Energy Better to Manage Energy Better (TEDxKothrud), A Meme a Day May Keep the Doctor Away (TEDxDayton), etc., and has presented on energy, culture, and technology at events across the region. Sid is passionate about practical technology, workforce readiness, and student engagement.

Pete Zuraw is Vice President of Market Strategy and Development at Gordian, where he leads initiatives to align services with client needs and advance thought leadership in facilities management. With over 25 years of experience in strategic planning and operations, Pete previously held leadership roles at Wellesley College and Franklin & Marshall College. He holds dual degrees in Civil Engineering and Architecture from Lehigh University.
