Nomination season is in full swing. Every year APPA fills seats on its Board, its committees, and the CEFP Commission. Calls open on a staggered schedule, so check the status on each opportunity below, and come back here for results.
How you put your name forward depends on the body.
Three ways in
Elected
Members elect the Board each spring from a slate prepared by the Nominating Committee.
APPA Board of Directors
Sets APPA's direction and oversees its finances.
Seats open for July 2027: Chair-Elect, Treasurer-Elect, CAPPA Regional Director, and SRAPPA Regional Director.
Who can serve: Representatives of Institutional Members in good standing. Regional Directors must be from the region they serve.
How it works: Apply during the call for nominations. The Nominating Committee interviews candidates and presents a slate, and members vote in the spring.

Member vote on the Board slate
Once the Board approves the slate, voting is conducted electronically, with candidate profiles available to voting members. Candidates may also be invited to forums or Q&A sessions.

ALE Committee
Shapes the quarterly ALE meetings and the annual in-person ALE, and turns ALE recommendations into priorities for the Board.
Who can serve: Current or recent chapter officers and chapter board members. Ten seats, allocated by region.

Women in Facilities Committee
Plans the Women in Facilities group's activities and direction, supporting women's growth and leadership in educational facilities.
Seats open: Four, one each for a member from PCAPPA, CAPPA, SRAPPA, and MAPPA.
Good to know: Joining Women in Facilities itself needs no application.

CEFP Commission
The independent certifying body for the CEFP credential.
Seats open: Three: one vacant now, and two whose terms end in 2027.
Who can serve: Five to eleven Commissioners, most of whom hold the CEFP.
Good to know: Commissioners can't serve on the APPA Board or its committees at the same time.

Through your region
For these committees there's no application form. Each year the committee chair contacts the leadership of each region and asks for its representative. If you'd like to be considered, let your regional board know before the month shown. Find your region →
Business Partner Advisory Committee
Advises APPA on Business Partner engagement and programs. Chaired by the Business Partner Director.
Who can serve: Business Partner representatives, one selected by each region.

Advises on APPA's professional development programs.
Who can serve: One representative selected by each region. The Board may appoint more, up to twelve members in all.

At-Large Directors are appointed by the Board and do not go through the election.
