Professional Bio

As Associate Vice President of Facilities Services at the University of Delaware, Tom oversees nearly 500 FTE in five operational units: Custodial and University Services, Maintenance and Operations, Energy and Engineering, Landscape Services, and Transportation Services. Tom has more than 35 years of experience in facilities management, design, and construction.

Prior to his current role, Tom spent 20 years at Elon University in various positions, culminating as Assistant Vice President for Facilities Management, with operational responsibility for 250 FTE and a 3.2M GSF campus. Tom also spent 12 years at the University of Missouri as Director of Landscape Services and Mizzou Botanic Garden, and also served as the Executive Director of the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.

Tom holds an MBA from Elon University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from Colorado State University. He has served as an APPA Facilities Institute faculty member for fifteen years, an APPA Advisor consultant for other universities and has conducted numerous university facilities peer reviews.
