Professional Bio
As Associate Director of Facilities Management at Missouri State University, I work across a broad range of operations, including custodial services, grounds, maintenance, construction, property control, surplus, stockroom/stores, and administrative functions. My work involves more than managing facilities—I focus on people, processes, resources, communication, and finding practical solutions that support the institution and the people it serves.
My academic background has shaped the way I approach leadership. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Missouri State University, followed by a graduate degree in Applied Communication and a graduate certificate in Conflict and Dispute Resolution. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Communication, continuing to explore the relationship between communication, leadership, identity, and organizational life.
I have a particular interest in how communication affects leadership and organizational effectiveness. Whether managing a complex operational issue, developing employees, resolving conflict, or communicating organizational priorities, I believe effective leadership begins with the ability to communicate clearly, build relationships, and understand the people involved.
My professional interests include higher education administration, facilities and operations management, organizational communication, leadership development, employee engagement, conflict resolution, and the transition of leadership skills across different organizational environments.
