Ron Burke is the Director of Environmental Services at Clemson University, leading a team of 77+ employees across 57 buildings. Known for his dedication to team development and cultural transformation, Ron has rebuilt trust with university leadership and established the department as a respected campus partner.
Previously, he was Executive Director at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, managing Environmental Services for a 900-bed hospital system and medical school campus with over 330 staff. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Ron began his career in Nursing and taught at a military nursing school. He holds a Facility Healthcare Engineer certification from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, where his research on Healthcare-Associated Infections was adopted into infection prevention standards. Ron is also HAZWOPER certified and emphasizes training, collaboration, and accountability in his leadership.
Ron is a devoted husband of 35 years and a proud father of two daughters. He enjoys spending time with family, golfing, football, reading, and the arts—including oil painting, pastels, and drawing—and is an avid musician who plays bass guitar, rhythm guitar, and sings lead vocals.
