APPA Text Messaging (SMS) Terms

These terms cover one-to-one text messages between you and APPA staff on APPA’s Microsoft Teams phone numbers.

Program description

APPA (Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers, “APPA: Leadership in Educational Facilities”) staff use Microsoft Teams phone numbers to send and receive one-to-one text messages with members, event attendees, customers, and others who have opted in. Messages are typed by individual APPA staff members and relate to membership and renewals, event registration and logistics, professional development and certification, orders, invoices and payments, and responses to your questions. APPA does not use this service for marketing, promotional, bulk, or automated messages.

How to opt in

You opt in by submitting the form at forms.appa.org/sms and checking the consent box, or by agreeing verbally when an APPA staff member asks permission to text you. Consent is not a condition of membership, registration, or any purchase.

Message frequency varies based on your conversations with APPA staff.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.

How to opt out

Reply STOP (or QUIT, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, REVOKE, or OPT OUT) to any message to stop receiving texts from that APPA number. You will receive one confirmation message and no further messages from that number. Reply START to resume.

To stop texts from all APPA staff numbers, email dulmer@appa.org and we will honor your request.

This service supports mobile numbers in the United States and Canada. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
