Women in Facilities Affinity Group Chartered, Jean Robinson to Chair

Association Updates,

At its July 14 meeting, the APPA Board of Directors approved a charter establishing the Women in Facilities Affinity Group, giving formal standing to a community that has been growing within APPA for some time, with Jean Robinson serving as its inaugural chair.

The group's purpose is to advance the professional development, career growth, and leadership representation of women in educational facilities management — a field where women have historically been underrepresented. Participation is open to every APPA member regardless of gender; the charter explicitly welcomes allies and advocates who want to help build a more representative profession.

The group's priorities, composition, and meeting rhythm will be established over the coming months, and this fall APPA's new community platform will give the group a virtual forum for sharing ideas and information. Watch InsideAPPA for details as the group takes shape.
